About Dioptase
Dioptase is a vivid emerald-green copper cyclosilicate mineral prized as one of the most intensely colored green minerals in nature, with saturated hues rivaling the finest emerald despite being limited to roughly 5 carats maximum in facetable size. Found primarily at Tsumeb in Namibia, the Altyn-Tyube mine in Kazakhstan, and the Congo, it forms lustrous rhombohedral crystals that are among the most beloved display specimens in mineral collecting. Its color is so pure and intense it seems almost fluorescent.
