About Almandine-Pyrope
Almandine-pyrope is a hybrid garnet composition falling between the almandine and pyrope end members, producing a rich, purplish to blood-red stone that is extremely popular in jewelry. Commercially known as rhodolite when it shows a distinctive purplish-rose hue, these garnets are found in alluvial deposits in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and India. Their excellent transparency, strong saturation, and affordable price make them among the most commercially significant garnets.
