Selenite is a transparent to translucent variety of gypsum that forms in large, blade-like or tabular colorless crystals with a vitreous to pearly luster, and can be cleaved into thin flexible sheets. The Cave of Crystals in Naica, Mexico, contains selenite crystals up to 12 meters long, the largest natural crystals ever found.
