About Parisite

Parisite is a calcium cerium lanthanum carbonate fluoride mineral forming amber-yellow to brown hexagonal dipyramidal crystals with an adamantine to waxy luster in carbonatites, pegmatites, and hydrothermal deposits. It was named after J.J. Paris, owner of the Muzo emerald mine in Colombia where it was first described, and also occurs notably in the Zagi Mountain pegmatite in Pakistan and several carbonatite complexes. Faceted parisite produces unusual golden to honey-colored collector gems with high dispersion.
