About Chrysoberyl
Chrysoberyl is a beryllium aluminum oxide gem mineral family that includes three exceptional varieties: alexandrite (the color-change variety), cat's eye chrysoberyl (the finest chatoyant gem), and yellow-green chrysoberyl used in jewelry. Its hardness of 8.5 on the Mohs scale makes it the third hardest natural gemstone after diamond and corundum, and its durability, combined with the phenomenal alexandrite and chatoyant varieties, gives it immense gemological significance. Major sources include Brazil, Sri Lanka, and East Africa.
