About Caledonite
Caledonite is an exquisite but rare deep blue-green copper lead sulfate carbonate mineral forming small prismatic crystals in the oxidized zones of copper-lead ore deposits. Named after Caledonia (Scotland), where it was first found, the finest specimens come from mines in Chile, England, and the Mojave Desert in California. Its brilliant, saturated blue-green color and extreme rarity make it a highly coveted collector mineral, though it is never faceted.
