About Verdelite
Verdelite is the trade name for the green varieties of tourmaline, encompassing a spectrum from pale mint and yellow-green to deep forest green, whose color is primarily caused by iron and sometimes chromium in chromium-bearing stones from Tanzania and Kenya. Brazilian verdelite from Minas Gerais produces some of the most saturated and largest green tourmaline crystals in the world, while Paraíba tourmaline with copper-bearing neon green color represents the rarest and most valuable subvariety. Verdelite's wide range of green tones offers an affordable alternative to emerald.
