About Beryllonite
Beryllonite is a rare sodium beryllium phosphate mineral forming colorless to pale yellow or white short prismatic crystals in granitic pegmatites. Gem-quality transparent material from Stoneham, Maine, and Minas Gerais, Brazil, is occasionally faceted, producing interesting if fragile collector gems with a vitreous luster. Its near-perfect cleavage makes cutting extremely challenging, and finished gems are highly unusual.
