About Star Ruby
El rubí estrella es una variedad de corindón rojo que exhibe un fenómeno óptico llamado asterismo: una estrella de seis rayos que parece flotar sobre la superficie cuando la gema se talla en cabujón. Este efecto se produce por la reflexión de la luz en agujas de rutilo orientadas en tres direcciones. Los rubíes estrella más famosos, como el «Estrella de la India», son joyas de museo.
