About Satin Spar
El satén espato es una variedad fibrosa del yeso (sulfato de calcio) con una característica apariencia sedosa que produce un efecto chatoyant o de ojo de gato cuando se pule en cabujón. Su suave lustre nacarado recuerda al raso, de ahí su nombre. Es muy translúcido y de tonalidad blanquecina o levemente rosada. Se usa frecuentemente en decoración y como piedra de cristaloterapia, aunque su baja dureza (2 en la escala de Mohs) lo hace delicado para joyería.
