About Pyrophyllite
La pirofilita es un filosilicato de aluminio blando con lustre aperlado a sedoso que varía en color del blanco y el amarillo pálido al verde y el gris, formando habitualmente agregados foliados o radiados. Apreciada en la antigua China para la talla de las piedras Shoushan utilizadas en sellos y figuras decorativas, ha sido durante siglos el material preferido de los artistas chinos. Hoy en día el material de grano fino verde o crema sigue siendo trabajado en pequeñas tallas y objetos de colección.
