About Proustite
La proustita, denominada «rubí plateado ligero» o «rubí de plata rojo», es un sulfoarseniuro de plata de color rojo escarlata a rojo carmín profundo con lustre adamantino y semitransparente en fragmentos delgados. Se forma en venas hidrotermales de plata junto con la pirargirita y otros minerales de plata, siendo los yacimientos de Chañarcillo en Chile y los de Alemania sus fuentes históricas más célebres. Es sensible a la luz y tiende a oscurecerse con el tiempo, por lo que las muestras bien conservadas de cristales brillantes son muy preciadas.
