About Pleonaste
Pleonaste is a dark, iron-rich variety of spinel that ranges from deep black to dark greenish-black, with a vitreous to submetallic luster. It forms as an accessory mineral in metamorphic and igneous rocks, commonly found in Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and parts of Europe. Though rarely used as a gemstone, its intense dark color and cubic crystal habit make it a distinctive collector's specimen.
