About Montebrasite
Montebrasite is a lithium aluminum phosphate hydroxide mineral, the hydroxyl-dominant analogue of amblygonite, typically forming colorless, white, pale yellow, or pale green prismatic crystals with a vitreous to pearly luster in granitic pegmatites. It was first described from Montebras in Creuse, France, and occurs in phosphate-rich pegmatites in Brazil, Portugal, and Sweden. Transparent faceted montebrasite is a rare collector gem prized for its clarity in the lithium phosphate mineral series.
