About Dolomite
Dolomite is a calcium magnesium carbonate mineral and major rock-forming mineral in dolomite rock (dolostone), typically forming white to gray rhombohedral crystals with a pearly luster in sedimentary sequences and hydrothermal veins. Curved, saddle-shaped 'baroque' crystals in pink to white and colorless transparent varieties are occasionally faceted as delicate collector gems. Fine pink crystals from Eugui, Spain, and beautiful curved pink crystals from mining regions in Mexico are collector favorites.
