About Childrenite
Childrenite is a rare iron manganese aluminum phosphate hydroxide mineral forming small, tabular to prismatic yellow-brown crystals in phosphate-rich granitic pegmatites. Named after English mineralogist John George Children, it is found in notable occurrences in Greifenstein, Germany, and Corrego Frio, Brazil. Transparent faceted specimens are exceedingly rare curiosities for specialists in phosphate minerals.
