About Analcime (Analcite)
Analcime, also spelled analcite, is a white to colorless zeolite mineral that forms well-developed, glassy icositetrahedral (trapezohedral) crystals in basaltic lavas and hydrothermal veins. Occasionally transparent crystals are faceted as curiosity gems for collectors, though their moderate hardness limits jewelry use. It is found worldwide, with particularly fine crystals from the Trentino region of Italy and Nova Scotia, Canada.
