About Rhodochrosite (Manganesespar)
Rhodochrosite, or Manganesespar, is a manganese carbonate mineral celebrated for its spectacular rose-pink to deep red banded patterns and occasional transparent cherry-red crystals, which are among the finest red gemstones. The Capillitas mine in Argentina produces the world's most prized stalactitic material with concentric rose and white banding, while the Sweet Home Mine in Colorado yields brilliant transparent red crystals. It is the state mineral of Colorado and the national stone of Argentina.
