The Thomsonite Subgroup consists of calcium sodium aluminosilicate zeolite minerals forming colorless, white, pink, or green radiate or columnar crystal masses with a silky to vitreous luster in basaltic cavities and hydrothermal veins. Thomsonite from the north shore of Lake Superior, Minnesota, USA, produces unique banded eye-like concentric patterns in pink, green, and white when polished as agates, making them distinctive collector stones. Notable specimens also come from Iceland and Greenland.
