About Sulphur
Sulphur (sulfur) is a native element mineral forming bright canary-yellow to golden orthorhombic crystals with a resinous to adamantine luster around volcanic fumaroles and in evaporite deposits, producing one of nature's most visually striking yellow mineral specimens. Sicily, Italy, and volcanic zones around the Pacific Rim yield exceptional crystal specimens, and sulphur has been utilized since antiquity for medicines, fumigants, and gunpowder. Despite its softness and brittleness, sulphur crystals are a staple of mineral collections worldwide.
