About Ludlamite
Ludlamite is a hydrated iron magnesium manganese phosphate mineral, forming vivid apple-green to bright emerald-green prismatic to tabular monoclinic crystals with a vitreous luster in phosphate-rich granite pegmatites. It was first described in 1877 from Wheal Jane mine in Cornwall, England, and notable specimens come from the Huanuni mine in Bolivia, Palermo mine in New Hampshire, USA, and other phosphate pegmatites. The bright emerald-green color and excellent crystal habit make ludlamite one of the most visually striking of all phosphate mineral collector specimens.
