About Linarite
Linarite is a lead copper sulfate hydroxide mineral forming intense azure-blue to deep cerulean blue prismatic crystals with an adamantine to vitreous luster in the oxidized zones of lead-copper ore deposits. It was first described from the Linares mining district in Jaén, Spain, and notable specimens come from Red Gill Mine in Cumbria, England; Bisbee, Arizona, USA; and New South Wales, Australia. The extraordinary depth and purity of its blue color make linarite one of the most desirable blue mineral collector specimens.
