About Lazulite
Lazulite is a magnesium iron aluminum phosphate mineral occurring in vivid sky-blue to deep blue crystals with a vitreous luster, named from an Arabic-Latin word for blue sky. It forms in quartzite, pegmatites, and quartz veins under metamorphic conditions and is found in localities in Salzburg, Austria; Yukon, Canada; Brazil; Sweden; and Madagascar. Transparent faceted lazulite is uncommon and cherished by phosphate mineral and blue gemstone collectors for its intense blue color.
