About Hureaulite

Hureaulite is a hydrated manganese phosphate mineral forming pink to red-orange monoclinic crystals with a vitreous luster, found primarily in the oxidized zones of granite pegmatites rich in phosphate minerals. It was first described from the Hureaux pegmatite in Haute-Vienne, France, and notable specimens also come from pegmatites in Brazil, Portugal, and the Black Hills of South Dakota, USA. The attractive pink to salmon coloration and good crystal development make hureaulite a prized phosphate mineral collector's specimen.
