About Clinohumite
Clinohumite is a magnesium silicate fluoride of the humite group, forming orange to yellow gem crystals in metamorphosed dolomitic limestones and skarns, with the finest transparent gem material coming from Tajikistan and Siberia, Russia. Its warm, deep orange color—unusual for a silicate mineral—and moderate hardness make faceted clinohumite striking collector gems. A rare titaniferous variety from Tanzania displays an unusual golden-orange that rivals hessonite garnet.
