About Clinochlore
Clinochlore is a magnesium aluminum iron phyllosilicate of the chlorite group, forming green to white platy crystals in metamorphic rocks, serpentinites, and hydrothermal veins. A rare, transparent violet-pink variety called 'kämmererite' (or kammererite) is occasionally faceted as a delicate collector gem, displaying a soft lavender color that is entirely distinct from the typical green forms. Notable chromian clinochlore (kämmererite) comes from Turkey and the Ural Mountains.
