About Brucite

Brucite is a magnesium hydroxide mineral forming platy, waxy white to pale green, yellow, or blue crystals in serpentinite and marble, and is commercially extracted as a magnesium ore. Rare transparent to translucent yellow or light blue specimens from Nevada and Pakistan are occasionally cut as collector gems with a pearly to waxy luster. Its very low hardness limits its use in jewelry, but translucent blue material can be attractive.
