Rossmanite is a rare lithium-aluminum member of the tourmaline supergroup, typically displaying pale pink to colorless tones with a vitreous luster and good transparency. It was described as a new mineral species in 1998 and named in honor of George Rossman, a leading authority on the spectroscopy of minerals. Fine facetable crystals have been found in the Czech Republic and pegmatites of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
