About Prase
Prase is a leek-green variety of quartz whose color is imparted by inclusions of actinolite or chlorite fibers distributed throughout the stone. Known since antiquity, it was used in ancient Greece and Rome for carving intaglios and decorative objects, and is found in Greece, Finland, and South Africa. Its opaque to translucent nature and earthy green hue give it a distinctive character among quartz varieties.
