About Moldavite
Moldavite is a natural tektite—a silica-rich glass formed by the heat and shock of a large meteorite impact approximately 15 million years ago—displaying a characteristic forest-green to olive color, often with a sculptured, corded, or pitted surface texture created during aerodynamic flight through Earth's atmosphere. The impact event (Nördlinger Ries crater in Bavaria, Germany) scattered moldavite across the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany, where it has been found in archaeological sites suggesting use as a talisman since the Neolithic period. Today moldavite is one of the most collected and metaphysically revered gemstones globally.
