About Datolite
Datolite is a calcium boron silicate mineral that forms colorless to pale green or yellow prismatic crystals in basic igneous rocks and metamorphic veins, and also occurs as botryoidal porcelain-like masses in the copper deposits of Michigan's Upper Peninsula that display vivid pink, red, green, and white patterns. Transparent faceted datolite is a delicate but beautiful collector gem, while the massive Michigan material is carved into distinctive cabochons.
