About Dallasite
Dallasite is a distinctive ornamental rock found almost exclusively on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, consisting of a dark green chlorite matrix riddled with white to cream calcite vein networks that create a striking web or mosaic pattern. Named after an old name for Victoria, BC, it is used as a lapidary material for cabochons and decorative objects that showcase its unique, graphic patterning. It is essentially a regional gemstone celebrated by Pacific Northwest lapidary artists.
