About Colemanite
Colemanite is a hydrated calcium borate mineral forming colorless to white monoclinic crystals with a vitreous luster in continental borate deposits in Turkey and the Death Valley region of California. It was named after William Tell Coleman, a California businessman who founded the borax operations that made Death Valley famous. Occasionally transparent crystals are faceted as unusual collector gemstones.
